The frequency of toothbrushing seems to be optimized at twice a day, with the suggestion that it should be each should be a two minute duration. There is no available evidence to indicate that you benefit more from brushing more than twice a day. And, of course, if you do brush more than twice a day, then the side effects, if you like, of toothbrushing are more likely to occur, i.e. you'll have more abrasion.
